Position Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring its availability, security, efficiency, and performance. This role is essential to guarantee stable connectivity across users, applications, and services while supporting business continuity and contributing to the IT team’s overall success.

Core Responsibilities within the Company
  • Configure, manage, and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, access points, VPNs, and other network devices.
  • Monitor network performance to ensure efficient connectivity and minimize downtime.
  • Implement QoS (Quality of Service) policies to optimize mission-critical applications.
  • Monitor threats and vulnerabilities in real time.
  • Implement firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and access controls.
  • Apply security patches and firmware updates regularly.
  • Manage user and device access to the network (VLANs, authentication policies).
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for network-related incidents.
  • Maintain backups and disaster recovery plans for network infrastructure.
  • Ensure network availability of 99.9% or higher.
  • Maintain updated network diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations (ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance infrastructure efficiency.
  • Participate in network expansion projects, cloud migrations, or hybrid implementations.
  • Propose improvements for performance, redundancy, and reliability.

Responsibilities within the IT Team
  • Work closely with system administrators, cybersecurity specialists, and developers to align network resources with technical requirements.
  • Support the Help Desk team on escalated network issues.
  • Train technical staff on best practices in connectivity and network security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network problems.
  • Coordinate with service providers (ISPs, hardware/software vendors).
  • Lead technical response efforts during critical connectivity incidents.
  • Contribute to the design of internal IT policies related to network usage.
  • Assist in budget planning for hardware, software, and network licenses.
  • Participate in IT strategy meetings to align technology goals with business objectives.
  • Guide junior technicians or trainees in network fundamentals.
  • Share documentation, procedures, and lessons learned with the team.

Required Skills and Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, VoIP, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls and security tools (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, pfSense, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud and hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex network issues.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical teams and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage critical incidents efficiently.
