Benefits Resource Specialist

Position Overview

The Benefits Resource Specialist supports the Employee Benefits team by assisting with the implementation, administration, and servicing of employee benefit programs. This role works closely with account managers, insurance carriers, and clients to ensure accurate processing of enrollments, changes, renewals, and overall client support.

The specialist serves as a key resource to ensure smooth day-to-day benefits operations while delivering excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of new employee benefit groups, including medical, dental, vision, life, and voluntary plans.
  • Process enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Present and explain benefit offerings to employees as needed.
  • Maintain and update employee census data and benefits records.
  • Support renewal processes by preparing documentation, updating plan details, and coordinating with insurance carriers.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve eligibility, billing, and coverage issues.
  • Prepare benefit materials, summaries, and client communications.
  • Assist with client service requests and day-to-day account management tasks.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding items such as applications, waivers, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and insurance regulations.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the benefits team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and employee information.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • At least 1 year of experience in HR, benefits, insurance, or administrative support.
  • Experience handling employee data, enrollments, or records.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Good communication skills (client-facing or internal support).
