Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support payroll operations, tax compliance, and accounting processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, deadline-driven, and excited to help improve and automate processes.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
Understand and manage payroll taxes, including calculating, reconciling, and submitting payments
Reconcile payroll and tax-related liability accounts
Issue payments to government agencies (federal, state, and local) accurately and on schedule
Monitor and manage strict deadlines, understanding the critical importance of timeliness in payroll and tax filings
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies or account variances
Assist with process improvements and help automate manual workflows
Maintain organized and detailed records to support audits and internal reviews
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Experience reconciling liability accounts
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
Eagerness to learn and grow in the role
Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
Comfortable working with spreadsheets and accounting/payroll software
Preferred Qualifications
Previous payroll or accounting experience.
Experience with process automation or system improvements.
Familiarity with payroll tax agencies and compliance requirements.
Personal Attributes.
Reliable, organized and proactive.
Comfortable asking questions and learning new processes.
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership over deadlines.
Problem-solver mindset with a continuous improvement attitude.
