Job Title: Bilingual Legal Assistant

About the Role

The Bilingual Legal Assistant will support the attorneys in representing injured worker clients under Florida’s workers’ compensation system. The goal of this role is to help ensure our clients receive the compensation they deserve and to assist the firm’s attorneys in successfully settling cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively in English and Spanish with clients, attorneys, and medical providers.

  • Answer and make calls to clients, take accurate messages, and relay information to attorneys via email or internal systems.

  • Notify clients of upcoming mediations, depositions, and hearings as scheduled by the court or attorneys.

  • Access and monitor court schedules using provided login credentials to update clients about their case status and important dates.

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and management of medical records, identification documents, and other case-related materials.

  • Use PDF tools and e-signature platforms to prepare, combine, and send documents for client or third-party signatures.

  • Maintain organized and detailed notes in shared electronic files for case tracking and reference.

  • Follow written and verbal instructions from attorneys (including Joseph Perea, Alexandra Bendayan, and Ledisse) accurately and promptly.

  • Learn to draft and edit legal documents using provided templates, ensuring client information is accurately incorporated.

  • Complete legal and administrative forms as needed for case filings or client documentation.

  • Send professional email correspondence on behalf of the firm to clients, medical offices, and other parties.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).

  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Administrative Assistant (preferred but not required).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks remotely.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PDF editing tools, and e-signature software (such as Adobe Acrobat or DocuSign).

  • Basic understanding of legal terminology or a willingness to learn about the Florida workers’ compensation system.
