Position Summary: Responsible for the integrity and veracity of the financial transactions of the company, preparing financial statements that are produced on time and representing accurate data.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports.
- Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies.
- Research and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Solid knowledge of job costing accounting ( construction industry ).
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Compile and prepare routine reports, GL postings and summaries.
- Monthly close duties include posting journal entries, accruals and reclasses, high volume account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Supervise all cash applications and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with inventory counts and evaluation, if required.
- Maintain fixed assets and assets financing schedules.
- Provide guidance and orientation to accounts receivable and accounts payable teams as needed.
- Support on external audits and review.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and work ethics
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Required Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and/or USGAAP reporting requirements, especially IFRS 15 or ASC 606 ( mandatory )
- At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry and elaborating Work in Progress report.
- Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills are required.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well-thought-out conclusions.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willing to adapt quickly to quick changes in direction.
- Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
