Job Summary:

The Leave Coordinator will work closely with the Leave Specialist to handle US based leave requests, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), US state and local leave laws, and US based short-term or long-term disability plans. This role will focus on the backend logistics of leaves of absence, in collaboration with internal support teams to process the leaves.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Leave Specialist to ensure proper paperwork is being prepared, submitted, and retained.
  • Drafts notification and eligibility letters to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Timely and correctly completes and submits paperwork to the proper state agency and/or benefit carrier.
  • Maintains reasonable communication with employees on receiving leave paperwork.
  • Maintains reasonable communication with leave carriers who Prestige partners with to process completed claims.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Maintains reasonable knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication bilingual skills (English & Spanish).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaboration and partnership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • Two years of human resource experience preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or equivalent degree/experiencing preferred.
