Description of Role

The Business Development Coordinator. plays a crucial role in driving new business and supporting the organization's growth. In this position, you will work closely with the Producer and prospective clients, ensuring that all necessary information is prepared, analyzed, and delivered to insurance carriers to secure competitive quotes. You will build and maintain relationships with carrier partners, manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and track and report on the progress of new business opportunities. Your ability to analyze proposals, identify cost-effective solutions, and recommend comprehensive insurance plans will be essential for maximizing the value provided to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for new business inquiries, working closely with Producers to understand prospective clients' needs and develop tailored insurance solutions.
  • Liaise between new prospects and carrier partners to facilitate the flow of required documents and data needed to generate quotes and proposals.
  • Support the Producer in client meetings by preparing relevant materials, such as plan comparisons, proposals, and market insights.
  • Proactively follow up with prospects throughout the proposal process, ensuring a positive client experience and addressing any concerns that arise.
  • Collaborate with Producers to develop strategies and position NE Solutions’ services to attract and secure new prospects.
  • Establish strong relationships with insurance carrier partners to facilitate smooth communication and documentation exchanges.
  • Prepare and organize new business packages, including gathering all necessary information to request insurance proposals (e.g., rates, benefits, premiums, commissions, contributions, claims experience, waiting periods, etc.).
  • Analyze and compare insurance plan proposals from multiple carriers, highlighting competitive advantages and making recommendations to the Producer.
  • Assist in running alternate plan designs for new prospects and plan renewals, ensuring that proposals meet client needs and market competitiveness.
  • Create a structured framework and process for tracking, managing, and optimizing new prospect contracts, ensuring timely updates and status reports to the Operations Manager and Producer.
  • Ensure timely responses to new prospect inquiries and processes, proactively addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all necessary paperwork is prepared and filed correctly for new business.
  • Oversee the seamless implementation of new clients when NE Solutions is hired as a broker.
  • Coordinate with clients and insurance carriers to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to implement the plans accurately and on time.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all required documents, contracts, and compliance checks are completed.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients during the implementation phase, addressing any issues or concerns to ensure a smooth transition.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry, particularly in employee benefits, rates, and proposals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze proposals and provide thoughtful recommendations based on business objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools for managing proposals and client information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills English and Spanish. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a business development, sales support, or insurance-related role.
  • Experience working with insurance carriers or in the employee benefits industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
