Job Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and strengthening client relationships by providing exceptional service and support throughout the lifecycle of employee benefits programs. This role serves as the main point of contact for clients, assisting with renewals, enrollments, benefit implementations, carrier communications, and ongoing account servicing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain relationships with assigned client accounts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding employee benefits inquiries and support.
- Coordinate and manage benefit renewals, including gathering census information, preparing proposals, and reviewing plan options.
- Assist with the implementation of new groups and onboarding processes with insurance carriers.
- Ensure all required documentation and applications are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Monitor renewal timelines and follow up on pending items to ensure deadlines are met.
- Support open enrollment meetings and employee benefit education.
- Maintain accurate client records and update internal systems/databases.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and insurance carrier requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong professional communication with clients and carriers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with insurance carriers and benefit platforms is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/benefits administration systems.
- Customer-service oriented with a professional attitude.
